Swarthmoor Meeting

Meeting House Lane, Ulverston, LA12 9ND

Our Meeting House:

Swarthmoor Meeting House was originally a barn and a cottage called Petty’s.

It was bought by George Fox and gifted to the Quakers so that they could meet there when Swarthmoor Hall became unavailable.

The adjoining stables have been made into an attractive meeting room, The Quaker Barn, which can be hired for use.

Meeting for Worship:

We meet every Sunday from 10.45 to 11.45.  Tea, coffee and biscuits afterwards.

Car parking is immediately outside the Meeting House.

We have recently introduced a half-hour Meeting for Worship at 11.30 on Wednesdays. This has been very well attended.

There is a tranquil burial ground and garden tucked away to the side of the Meeting House.
